Lessons and COVID 19
Music lessons are tremendous extra-curricular activities in the best of times. In these highly irregular times, they can be even more beneficial! Music lessons provide a weekly structure when even the school structure may change. Lessons also lead to regular practice times, which means a daily schedule you can add to your home life. These structured times offer long and short term goals for students. They also provide enjoyment of learning something new and filling the house with music - a huge stress relief. I then also like to add games for the students to play both in lessons and at home. These games offer entertainment and education for the whole family!
Health and Safety Guidelines
Disease Prevention
-
If you are sick, stay home from lessons. Online lessons are available if possible.
-
Avoid close contact with those who are already sick.
-
Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or the crook of your arm.
-
Wash your hands often with soap and water.
-
Avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth.
Studio Sanitization
-
During this time, I have scheduled extra time in between lessons to sanitize the studio thoroughly and to limit the number of persons in the studio or the number of cars waiting in the driveway.
-
I am fully vaccinated now, but will wear a face shield/mask during lessons if parents wish.
-
Parents and students must follow the local guidelines on whether or not they should wear their own masks or face shields.
-
I will have tissues and sanitizer on hand at any time if needed.
Lesson Alternatives
-
I understand this is a fluid situation. In the event that we must shelter in home, I am prepared to offer online lessons via Zoom, FaceTime, or Skype.
-
I will email lesson assignments after each lesson.
-
I will provide supplemental worksheets to be picked up or emailed.
Communication
-
I will text the day before to confirm the lesson.
-
If you or anyone in your family have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, notify the studio as soon as possible. Lessons will be moved to an online platform until the quarantine is ended.
-
If online lessons are not possible due to contracting Covid-19, cancellation fees can be waived.
-
I promise to follow these guidelines myself as well.
Lesson Day
-
I will provide sanitizer for students to use as they enter the studio.
-
In addition to the sanitization done between lessons, I will thoroughly sanitize the entire studio after lessons each day.
